Don't Worry Baby was founded in an apartment in Brooklyn. During a routine closet purge, two friends realized their discard piles were stacked high with fast-fashion throwaways and in their keep piles were items they had made themselves, on their own sewing machines. The joy of buying from a high-volume retailer was temporary. They failed to make real connections with items bought impulsively, on the cheap. Furthermore, the realities of the environmental and human impact of the fast-fashion industry were increasingly impossible to ignore.
Today, Alice Heinz, Stephanie Butterworth, and Averil Blakely make clothing they love. The right way. With humor and intention and no moral compromise.
